What the Institute for Integrative Nutrition gave due attention to is a concept called Primary Food. Joshua Rosenthal, the founder, noticed that no matter how pristine one's diet or food plan is, if it is not coupled with right thinking and feeling, its effect is rendered almost useless.
Mind and heart must be in harmony in order to use the nutritious contributions one consumes.

The subconscious holds the beliefs that the young mind selected and stored between the ages of 2 and 5. The beliefs serve to protect, when they are the correct beliefs to have. When inbedded beliefs block that which can improve your life, they need to be reprogrammed. The 6 Month Personal Program
The Personal Program provides the most special attention because it is all on and about you. This is the program with the highest level of support that includes the information gathered during the health history interview and expanded on to directly address your needs and concerns about your life, how and why you live it, and how it can and what can be improved.
The discussions and evaluations help to determine what is the best food and health plan for your life now.
In the 6 month program you receive
• A one hour bi-weekly appointment (2 appointments each month) to discuss issues, progress after the first meeting,
recommendations, and assignments.
• A health food store tour
• Exposure to suitable alternative activities to enrich your life
• Assorted media material on loan or provided
(CDs, books, recordings, DVDs, VCs) to assist in integrating the new healthy lifestyle.
• Email contact between appointments
• Telephone appointments during specified hours
You will receive:
• A binder to collect all handouts and notes you take during the appointments.
The binder is also to contain all of your assignments for the appointments.
• Items and/or recommendations to facilitate integration of a healthy lifestyle
The 6 Month Group Program
The group program is uses the group dynamic for those who prefer this type of support. The maximum number of persons is limited to twenty. Each participant will have a health history interview which will help determine the common and specific information foci for the group.
In the 6 Month Group Program you receive:
• A two hour bi-weekly appointment (2 appointments each month) to discuss issues, progress after the first meeting,
recommendations, and assignments. The first hours is group activity. The second hour is used for personal appointments
guaranteeing about a minimum of 20 minutes per client over the 6 month period.
If the need for more one on one time is required, personal appointments at additional cost can be scheduled.
• A health food store tour
• Exposure to suitable alternative activities to enrich your life
• Recommendations for assorted media material(CDs, books, recordings, DVDs, VCs) to assist in integrating the new healthy lifestyle.
• Email contact during specified hours between appointments
You will receive:
• A binder to collect all handouts and notes you take during the appointments.
The binder is also to contain all of your assignments for the appointments.
• Items and/or recommendations to facilitate integration of a healthy lifestyle
The 6 Month Distance Program
This option is available to persons unable to attend appointments in person. It is similar to the other programs:
• A one hour bi-weekly appointment (2 appointments each month) to discuss issues, progress after the first meeting, recommendations, and assignments via telephone or via telephone and Internet.
• As a health food store tour is only possible in person, alternative e/mailed information about known health food stores or mail order information for accessible resources.
• Exposure to suitable alternative activities to enrich your life within your area
• Recommendations for assorted media material(CDs, books, recordings, DVDs, VCs) to assist in integrating the new healthy lifestyle.
• Email contact during specified hours between appointments
You will receive:
• A binder to collect all handouts and notes you take during the appointments.
The binder is also to contain all of your assignments for the appointments.
Handouts will either be emailed prior to an appointment or all handouts will be mailed in bulk so they will be available at the appropriate time.
